How to use
- Pick a quick preset (Rainy Night Sleep, Forest Morning, Ocean Waves, Thunderstorm, …) to start a curated mix in one tap.
- Open the Sound Library to add individual layers — rain, thunder, birds, crickets, seagulls — on top.
- Adjust each layer's volume. Random layers (thunder, owls, seagulls) have minDelay/maxDelay you can tweak.
- Save the mix locally or copy a share link so the same scene opens for anyone who visits.
FAQ
Are these recorded sounds or synthesised?
Most nature layers are recorded samples (rain, ocean, thunder, bird calls, etc.). White/pink/brown noise is synthesised procedurally in the Web Audio API.
Can I play two different rains at once?
Yes — add them both from the Sound Library and detune their volumes. The engine runs every layer in parallel, so any combination is possible.
Will the mix keep playing when I change tabs?
Yes. The engine is global, so audio continues across navigation. A sticky mini-player at the bottom shows what's running and lets you pause anywhere.
Layer-first nature ambience
Nature rarely sounds like one single sample. Real forests are layered —
the rain is the bed, wind moves the canopy, and birds pierce through in
random bursts. This generator lets you build that mix layer by layer so
the scene feels alive rather than looping.
Preset starting points
- Rainy Night Sleep — heavy rain + brown noise + distant thunder.
- Forest Morning — forest bed, birdsong, gentle crickets.
- Ocean Waves — slow ocean with random seagull calls and wind gusts.
- Thunderstorm — heavy rain, rolling thunder, gusting wind.
- Night Crickets — cricket bed, frogs, a distant owl, soft wind.
